Hearts matter

When you speak, I listen
Because your voice matters

When you call, I respond
Because your pleas matter

When you ask, I answer
Because your questions matter

If you hurt me, I hurt
Because my feelings matter

What does not matter between us is the colour of our skin,
Nor our religion, our gender, our sexuality or the shape our bodies are in

Human hearts beat to love
They strive to help and care

Human hearts would stop at nothing
Because only minds are aware

My eyes don’t see your differences
Your eyes may see mine

What matters is what our hearts do
At that moment in time…
